The HDS Hold Down System - Lite is a streamlined portable woodworking workbench and clamping system designed for makers who need reliable workholding without the full feature set of the standard HDS.
Whether you're working in a small garage, on-site job location or temporary workspace, the HDS Lite instantly turns almost any flat surface into a functional woodworking bench at a more accessible price point.
Simply place the system onto a table or worktop, tighten the four bolts, and within under a minute you have a sturdy workholding platform ready for cutting, planing, sanding or assembly.
What Makes the Lite Version Different?
The HDS Lite features front-to-back clamping slots and precision dog holes, focusing on the most commonly used clamping configurations from the full HDS system.
Through extensive testing, we found that most clamping was achieved using the dog holes and front-to-back slots. The Lite version streamlines the design to these essential features, offering significant cost savings while maintaining excellent workholding capability.

The dog holes are positioned at precise 96mm intervals, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of 3rd party accessories.
The 288mm front overhang is a key feature - it allows bench dogs and clamps to combine for secure vertical clamping, while the base remains stable on your work surface.

Manufacturing Details
Each HDS Lite unit is CNC machined from MDF or plywood depending on the model.
As a result, minor machining marks or surface imperfections may be present. These are purely cosmetic and do not affect the performance of the system. Light sanding may be required.
